DSS Academy Information Systems Security Courses
The DSS Academy offers two courses in Information
Systems Security as described in Chapter 8 of the National Industrial Security
Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
Those two courses are: NISPOM Chapter 8 Requirements for Industry Online and
NISP Chapter 8 Implementation Teletraining. The first course, the Chapter 8
Requirements for Industry Online course, describes the computer and network
security standards in Chapter 8 and also the process of getting systems
accredited for operation under the NISPOM standards. Since this course is an
online course, it is available to students at any time.
The second course is a classroom based, hands-on computer course where students
not only learn how to configure computer and network systems to comply with
Chapter 8, but also gain hands-on experience in doing so.
Please note that the Chapter 8 Requirements Online course is now a prerequisite
for this hands-on class. The next three courses are scheduled for January 24-26,
February 14-16 and March 7-9, 2006, and will be conducted at the DSS Academy in
Linthicum, MD. As the course title suggests, these courses are also available
via video teleconference to remote locations. Please contact the DSS Academy if
you have any questions regarding these courses
